A message from the photographer
What is Documentary Imagery?
When people find out that I am a photographer, they often ask if I photograph families or offer mini-sessions. The answer is "no," but it’s genuinely because that's just not my focus. I have done family photos in the past, but I feel like there is just not enough time in a mini-session. It can be stressful dealing with younger children, getting them to pose, and let's face it, we have all been there, bribing them to smile. Now I only offer sessions that inspire genuine emotion and feeling. This type of session would be an hour and a half and I will be there with you, capturing your life just as it is; creating beautiful images that will tell your family story. Each image is taken from my perspective and not with my typical professional photography camera. They are taken on my Fujifilm camera and are edited with the look and feel of nostalgic film. Now that I am a parent and I look back on old family photo albums, the photos that grab my attention and make me feel something are memories; building a fort in our living room, family dance parties or snuggling on the couch watching our favorite TV show. The images that tell my family's story are the images that I hold onto and keep close to my heart. When someone asks me to photograph their family, I would be honored to be there with you. We can go on an adventure to the park, hang out at your home, or whatever you and your family love to do together, and I will be there to capture it. It’s my preference that you look back on these images and remember a memory. A special moment in life that is organic and inspires you. Pricing for these sessions starts at $500 and payment plans are available. You will receive a full gallery of digital images within a week. We do not sit down and try to sell you on prints. Each gallery is delivered digitally, and you can choose to print any images you like or just share them on social media with friends and family.
